Weekend Getaway - Friday

This past weekend Brandon and I traveled to Sioux Falls/Brookings to attend a college friend's wedding. We decided to make a little getaway out of it and took Friday off of work. We left a little late due to the storms on Thursday night, since I didn't get all of the laundry I needed done. We drove past lots of damage on the way, which gave me goosebumps and made me thankful that we didn't receive any damage.
We got to Sioux Falls around 2pm and shopped for a bit before checking into our hotel. Swam at the hotel for a while before walking over to Carnaval for supper. We had always wanted to eat there while we lived in Sioux Falls, but we were told it was mega expensive and we were still poor college students. It wasn't as much as we thought it was going to be, so we are kicking ourselves for never trying it. Carnaval is a Brazilian restaurant where men in gauchos walk around with meat. We ate at a Brazilian restaurant last year in Orlando and loved it. I can say that we loved Carnaval, too, but Texas de Brazil is a little bit better. They had live music, so we ate slowly and had a few drinks and soaked up the atmosphere. I was very glad we were able to WALK back to the hotel. Fruity Brazilian drinks did me in! It was a lovely time.
