Family Fun in Frontenac

Yesterday we spent the day at Frontenac State Park.  It was our first time visiting, and I can definitely see us going again.
We started out in the morning with the harder trails and had planned on doing the easier trails after lunch.  Well, we ended up climbing the hardest one right before we left.  The route we were planning on was closed due to mudslide.  We got a great workout and so did the puppies.  Most of the trails went along the lake and were well-wooded.
The colors were vibrant and everywhere we looked, leaves were falling.  It was kind of magical when we stopped and watched for a while.
Baylee and Odie loved all of the sights and sounds.  Baylee even let two men pet her, believe it or not.  I think she was just too tired to care at that point.  They both slept on the way home and all evening.  They were tuckered out.  We think they may have walked more miles yesterday than any other day in their lives.  And these were not easy miles on a paved path, either.
We stopped on the way home for caramel apples at an orchard.  Brandon ate his second caramel apple in his entire life.  They were a nice treat after all the hard work hiking we did.

you can see how narrow some of the trails are in this picture

We ate lunch at the wayside rest in Lake City.  There were a bunch of kayakers there.  Buggy wanted to go swimming, but we kept her on leash.

Boo was so tired, she jumped up and leaned into Brandon for some rest.

This picture doesn't do the steep incline justice.

almost dead and we weren't even half way up
